We Are DESTINY 3

Unofficial community concept project

The board
is the vision

WE ARE DESTINY 3 is an open community exploration of what Destiny could become. Not a leak. Not a prediction of what Bungie is building. A blank canvas with a lot of people drawing on it.

Destiny has one of the most recognizable visual and gameplay identities in games. The interesting question isn't how faithfully you can reproduce it — it's where it goes next. What replaces the ability HUD. What a destination feels like when it couldn't have existed on last-generation hardware. What happens to Supers, to weapons, to fireteams, to the Tower.

There is no single WE ARE DESTINY 3 vision, and there is no committee assembling one. The concepts people post are the vision, and it changes every time someone adds to it.

One idea, one entry

This is the rule the whole site is built around, and it's what keeps the board from turning into a feed of disconnected images.

If you make five videos exploring the same combat scenario, that is one concept with five explorations — not five entries. The board shows the idea. The explorations live inside it as evidence, annotated for what worked and what didn't.

That distinction matters most for generative work, where no single output is ever quite right. One generation has the best HUD, another has the best weapon effect, a third accidentally discovers something nobody was aiming for. Presented as five separate posts, that reads as noise. Presented as one concept with the good seconds pulled out of each, it reads as design research — which is what it actually is.

Explorations, not versions

They're numbered but not ranked. "v3" implies it beats v2. In practice exploration 01 might have the only usable HUD in the set while exploration 04 has the only usable lighting. Each one is labelled by what it was testing, not by how far along it is.

Status, not quality

Every concept carries one of three states, so the board shows things evolving rather than arriving finished:

Starting at Exploring is normal. Most good ideas never leave it, and posting something unsettled is the point rather than a compromise.

Concepts cite each other

A concept isn't an isolated post. It can cite other people's work as builds on, inspired by, references, pairs with, alternative to, or challenges — and because that's structured rather than a URL pasted into a paragraph, the reverse relationship comes back for free. Cite someone and their page gains “Referenced by 7 concepts” without them lifting a finger.

You can cite a whole concept, or four seconds inside one of its explorations. The clip embeds in your page with the original creator credited and linked. Attribution is generated, never typed.

Don't duplicate an idea to include it in yours. Reference it, build on it, and credit the person who made it. That single rule is what stops a community board turning into a feed of near-identical posts.

And two people are allowed to disagree. Someone proposes the Traveler should die; someone else proposes it should awaken. Both belong, linked as alternatives. There is no canonical WE ARE DESTINY 3, and the site is built so it never has to pretend otherwise.

Open questions

Not every idea is developed enough to be a concept. Open questions are where those live — What should Supers become? What should the Tower become? — and answering one links your concept to it automatically. A question with no answers isn't a failure state. It's the invitation.

Made with anything

Concept art, Blender renders, Unreal scenes, Photoshop, Figma prototypes, handwritten sketches, AI images, AI video, UI mockups, design documents, music, sound design, animation, lore, weapon designs, playable experiments. All of it belongs here.

The standard is interesting direction, not how it was made. Arguments about whether someone's tools count are off-topic — take them elsewhere.

How it runs

Everything is posted through this site — there is no other route in, and no account to keep up with beyond a single sign-in. Submissions are reviewed by a person before they appear.

Underneath, every concept is a plain text file in a public repository, and the site is rebuilt from those files whenever one lands. That's deliberate: it means the board can't quietly rewrite anyone's work, the whole history is auditable, and if this project ever stops being maintained the concepts are still there in the open rather than trapped in a database nobody can reach.

Credit

Every concept carries its creator's name, and creators keep the rights to their own work. Building on someone else's concept is encouraged — remix their HUD, animate their weapon, score their trailer — as long as you credit and link them.

This is a fan project

WE ARE DESTINY 3 is an unofficial community fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with Bungie. Destiny and related names, characters, imagery and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Everything published here is speculative work created by individual community members — not Bungie material, not leaked material, and not a prediction of any real product.

The tool doesn't matter. The idea does.

Evolve, don't reskin

Destiny already has extraordinary art direction. The interesting question is where it goes next.

Explain the thinking

A good concept isn't only beautiful. Tell us what problem you're solving or what feeling you're chasing.

Keep the failures

The generation that only got one thing right still got one thing right. Annotate it and keep it.

Remix each other

One person's HUD becomes another person's gameplay video. Credit the original and build on it.
